New 16PF research

The 16PF® is one of the most well-known and respected measures of normal adult personality.

In 2011, as part of our commitment to ensuring the 16PF remains the instrument of choice for our clients, OPP conducted an extensive and wide-reaching research project to confirm the validity that the 16PF has in predicting important behaviours. Our research findings support 16PF’s position as one of the most highly respected measures of normal adult personality.

For the European English, Dutch and French language versions of the questionnaire, data was collected from large samples of people (1,000+), designed to be truly representative of the working age population. The samples were matched closely to the working age population on variables such as country/region of residence, gender, age, ethnic origin, educational level, employment status, job level and job type. As a result the 16PF norms have been updated and are available on OPPassessment from 13 December.

You will see that the new norms do not differ hugely from the previous norms. Indeed, the results of our research show that there is compelling similarity in the psychometric data from the two different points in time. This confirms our belief that the 16PF measures stable, enduring traits. Find out more about the 16PF instrument >>.

OPP will be presenting further details of many of the key research findings from this 16PF research study at the forthcoming British Psychological Society Division of Occupational Psychology conference (11-13 January 2012).

From 13 December, new norms based on our 2011 research will appear on OPPassessment for the European English, Dutch and French questionnaires. Should you be in the middle of a campaign and require access to the previous norms to ensure all respondent reports are scored using the same norm group, please contact us on +44 (0)845 603 9958 or enquiry@opp.eu.com.
