The FIRO-B and FIRO Business tools

  • FIRO-B is the classic, heritage tool with a wide range of supporting materials.
  • FIRO Business uses business-applicable vocabulary to talk about the FIRO-B dimensions, making it well suited for all levels of an organisation. Its international norms make it especially useful when you are working cross-culturally.

The FIRO-B® Interpretive Report for Organisations draws on the FIRO-B instrument’s analysis of interpersonal needs in an organisational setting. This report shows an individual’s needs in relation to Inclusion, Control and Affection, and then explores these results in more detail in the context of the work environment.

The report helps individuals in planning career development, increasing their job satisfaction, improving their effectiveness in teams and identifying the strengths and development areas of their leadership style. The report is particularly useful to practitioners when used in team communication and leadership development.

FIRO Business® Profile Report

The FIRO® Business Profile Report provides a basic summary of FIRO Business results in a clean, graphical style, and is the ideal starting place for a qualified FIRO practitioner to start their own interpretation.

The FIRO Business reports are designed specifically for use in the workplace, using business-focused language to describe FIRO theory and questionnaire results. The reports are designed for use with clients who want to understand their interpersonal relationships, and gain an understanding of how they influence workplace behaviours and leadership style.

This report looks at Expressed and Wanted interpersonal needs in three areas that affect work relationships: Involvement, Influence and Connection – terminology that can be used to directly replace the traditional FIRO® names for Inclusion, Control and Affection within the FIRO framework.
